At 8 this AM (10-13-11) two Egyptian Geese flew onto our property in Kendall where we have a 1/2 pond. I was able to get very close to them, as though they were domesticated. They ate pieces of bread readily. I burned a whole roll of film watching them.
I went on-line to find out what species they were, since neither of our bird books showed them. One is a drake since it hisses, and the other is a female because it quacks quite a bit.
How common are they in Miami? Are they someone's pets?
They are still here, and I would not be adverse to their deciding to make this their home!
