Thanks, Larry. I recognized the "whit" from what I have heard in Illinois-- in fact I looked for the bird after first hearing it. I have only heard whistle type calls from the Eastern Wood-Pewee. I agree that the bill in the bird I posted on TAS looks more like a pewee, and it does have a bit of a crest like one. Since both birds were in the area at the same time there is a possibility that this particular shot was indeed the pewee. Here is another (poor) shot when it was closer by and definitely making the call nearly overhead. Note its big broad bill and proportions, not like a pewee. Also shorter wings.
