Well, thanks for the responses. My sighting is bothering me. There absolutely was no rufous in the remiges of the individual I saw, but thats the only field mark Im certain of. I feel confident it was a mangrove, but its a bird Ive been after for so long that I wouldnt be doing myself justice to accept the sighting. I want that perfect look, where all distinguishing field marks are visible (dont we all). Oh well, guess Ill have to make another trip, but this one will not include family! I dont think Ill have a hard time convincing some fellow Cali birders to join me, they been bothering me for a while to guide them in Fl anyway. Thanks for the martin confirm, just couldnt be sure seeing as how I was in another land and not knowing what the other two martin potentials look like.
