I haven't seen a fledgling yellow-billed cuckoo in years, but a juvenile bird(with it's plumage grown out fully)should have visibly rufous wings. Alex is right about the buffy belly; that combined with no rufous in the wings would make me think mangrove cuckoo of any age, even if I only had a quick glimpse. Black-billed is very rare here; I've only seen one in 4 years.
You were seeing purple martins in the Keys. There's a lot of them moving through right now, heading back south again.
