The two immature Sabine's Gulls were seen by C.J. Grimes and me at 12:00 noon today at Boynton Beach inlet on the nort side of the cut on the east side of A1A. They were hovering around a fisherman by the generator (look for black smoke) begging for bait. While looking at the gulls from the south side of the cut a Purple Sandpiper appeared on the base of the concrete walkway feeding like crazy and oblivious to our presence even though we were within 10 ft. of the bird. We also had an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull in the area. A nice trifecta to go with our Western Spindalis seen at Bill Baggs/Cape Florida this morning. Probably the only time I will see this unusual combination of species in one day. Life is good....................and the cerveza will be flowing tonight.
