My wife and son came with me to check some of the areas that Jim birded. At the CR880 flooded area we had 17 Wilson's Phalaropes, about two dozen Avocets. There were also two Marbled Godwits which are not very common for this area. The sod farm at Six Mile bend had at least 47 Upland Sandpipers, we scoped this area hard as well as the flooded area along CR880.
We had a total of 18-species of shorebird in a half day of birding which was nice!
Black-bellied Plover
Semiplamated Plover
Killdeer
American Avocet
Black-necked Stilt
Willet
Lesser Yellowlegs
Greater Yellowlegs
Spotted Sandpiper
Marbled Godwit
Ruddy Turnstone
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Upland Sandpiper
Long-billed Dowitcher
Stilt Sandpiper
Wilson's Phalarope
Brown's Farm road had a flooded area on the east side which did not have many shorebirds but did have a few Roseate Spoonbills. We also had a Yellow Warbler and a Yellow-billed Cuckoo.
