I had a good time birding the EAA this morning. At STA-1W I found a flock of Fulvous Whistling Ducks and saw a large number of exotic Purple Swamphens. I wonder when these will become countable?

Gladeview Road had many egrets and Roseate Spoonbills, both species of yellowlegs and dowitchers, Black-necked Stilts, Stilt Sandpipers, and Least, Semipalmated and Western Sandpipers.

I found a King Rail on Sam Senter Road and another on nearby Gator Boulevard.

The sod farms of Six Mile Bend Corp had about 20 Upland Sandpipers.

The flooded fields off CR880 about one and a half miles east of Duda Road had 2 American Avocets, 2 Wilson's Phalaropes, Gull-billed and Black Terns and other more common shorebirds. I also saw several Yellow Warblers in this area.

A few Bank Swallows were mixed in with the much more numerous Barn Swallows. Common Nighthawks were sitting on utility wires.
