We actually have a couple of Purple Gallinule families this year with young. Not the numbers of years ago but still nesting success.
The best bird this week: Yellow-billed Cuckoo, found on the Chickee Hut island.
The water levels are low right now, so I'm hoping that some shorebirds show up. None so far.
You can expect the normal waders, some migrants on the habitat island (heard gnatcatchers on my walk in), and the birds that Carlos mentioned above of course.
