The chickee hut at Green Cay is roughly half way around the main ring - it's within a large tree canopy island - one in which the boardwalk rises to enter from either direction.
I was at Green Cay on Saturday - black crowned night heron was at the small pond, a few stilts were back due to the lower water, half-a-dozen or so roseated spoonbills hanging out in the main lake, several purple gallinules, lots of moorhen chicks. Overall a little quiet. I also went to Wakodahatchee Wetlands after, and had good sightings of least bittern, red-shoulder hawk, osprey, GBH, tricolor heron, cattle, great and snowy egret, white & glossy ibis, purple gallinules (at least 5), green heron, black-bellied whistling ducks, and flyover of monk parakeet flock.
