Shorebirds are on the move up here in New England. A visit to several of the Boston area beaches have yielded increasing numbers of shorebirds. Numbers up here mean they will be in Florida fairly soon.
A whale watch yesterday out of Boston yielded many phalaropes (seemed to be Red-necked as we whizzed by them). Also on the trip were high numbers of Wilson's and Leach's Storm-Petrels, Sooty and Greater Shearwaters. Humpback and Minke Whales are always nice to see, as well.
