I went onto the boardwalk at the east end (to the left of the visitor center if facing it) and I was probably only about 50-80 yards onto the trail.

I wish I'd had a camera with me but I did get a very good look at it in the binoculars from a couple different angles. I had enough time to get out my Sibley's guide just to verify the differences in the cuckoo species and take another good look.

I know it was an unusual spot and I let the rangers know. Feel free to email me for more info.
