Thanks to all who helped me locate some exciting and difficult birds recently:

Brian R., thanks for the notes about going to the EAST side of Black Point Marina to find the Mangrove Cuckoo. It worked on the second try and I got some great shots while the bird(s) lingered for quite a while. It was the day after the 4th of July celebrations so there was lots of truck noise and clean up crews and even a hovering helicopter but that bird managed to stick around and move gracefully between the two sides of the road. I don't think I would have heard it or seen it without playing a tape. And there were at least two around 9am along the road, about midway between the beginning and the cul de sac, where there is a little bridge.

Daria Feinstein, thank you for opening your home/yard to see the beautiful macaws. You are kind and generous with your home and care for these wild exotics. Hope to keep in touch and send you some of the nicer photos.

Roger Miller and John Ogden for showing me their nesting Black-whiskered Vireo. Both were very gracious with their time and opening their homes/yards to see this pair of nesting birds.

I can't recall the person who posted back in late April about where to locate the Purple Swamphens but it is still valid. On the July 4th holiday morning (around 10am) I found several working the lawn on the east side of the parking lot of City Furniture, located on Hiatus road, just north of Commercial Blvd. and south of McNab road. I know these are exotics yet they are beautiful birds and very skittish.

LOVE Toe's comment about NOT POSTING A YARD BIRD UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO SHARE YOUR YARD AND ADDRESS! AMEN!

Peace,
db
