Thanks to a heads-up from my buddy Alan Murray,I was able to add House Finch to my June Challenge list. More importantly, there is now very good evidence that this bird is breeding in Collier County. This morning, I went to the intersection of 6th Avenue South & 10th Street South near Tin City in Naples. Before I even got out of my car, there were two House Finches singing away on the utility lines at this junction. I also saw a female HOFI with carrying nesting material in it's beak. For the third week in June, IMHO, that could only indicate that HOFI is breeding in Collier County. Thanks Alan!
