I'm not sure whether anyone is interested, but your June Challenge has now spread across the continent with me partaking in all of the fun here in San Diego County, CA. This morning I hiked our tallest peak and added several species including White-headed Woodpecker, Green-tailed Towhee and Dusky Flycatcher, bringing my total to 185 seen species. I'm not 100% sure how this works - If others have seen other species in the county, do their additions count? Maybe next year we can organize something more thorough and post to our own listserve! ;-)
This is a good idea, as it is a reason to get out in the field during a down birding time and confirm a few breeders and maybe find a few rarities.
Jay Keller,
San Diego, CA
