I birded my backyard yesterday between storms to see what I could flush up. The 5 Northern Bobwhite were a surprise....so many. I usually have 2 under a tree feeding on birdseed that drops from a feeder. Also heard and saw more Common Nighthawks than ever before. I keep listening for the Antillean, but no luck so far. And of course, the young Blue Jays have fledged and are learning how to eat from a bird feeder. I think my place raised 2-3 nests of jays....there are so many of them.
