YELLOW-GREEN VIREO: On June 9 at 10am Lucy Duncan spotted a Yellow-green Vireo in Pensacola Beach, Escambia County. The bird was in a lush garden of live oaks in a private neighborhood. The bird was relocated at 12:15pm when it was singing, but it was spooked by a landscaping crew before it could be photographed. There are not very many oaks in the neighborhood, and it is hoped that the bird can be found later in the day. Directions: The area is on Pensacola Beach on the road to Ft. Pickens. Turn right into Villa Sabine (before the convenience store), and follow that street north and east until you get to the sign directing you to the Environmental Protection Agency lab. You cannot cross the "causeway" to the lab. Park on the side of the road. The yard with the vireo is full of live oaks (east side of the road) and has a waterfall / stream feature. The vireo was high in the oaks.
