I am wondering the same thing. In my Little Havana yard, I usually see some activity. The neighborhood is not great for migrants, but most times the last 2 years Ive been there have had thier share. Some migrants that are around in good numbers are Barn swallow, gray catbird, parula, cape may, redstart, bt blue, ovenbird, and prairie. Last year I even had some goodies like hooded, n. waterthrush, rb grosbeak and black-whiskered vireo. This year, migrant-wise there has only been a prairie on two widely seperate days. In the warbler department (except for long-departed winterings) that is all. That early vanguard of parula, black and white, prairie and others has completely been absent. In fact, only one morning this year (I'm out there almost every day) did I hear that morning chipping of small birds flying over the house. The last few years there were several days with that activity, even though some were 'slow' days on the bird board. As you know, one plus has been buntings- the same indigo is still there and there has been several green painteds lately. Thank goodness for the residents- at least they are in the yard!
