A migration phenomenon called "Coastal Hiatus" occurs often down here during spring migration. If Birds do not encounter rain, headwinds or other meteorological factors they will fly right past us. In the rush to the breeding grounds birds often fly 50 to 75 miles inland as they encounter land during the daylight hours. We need a front to push south and drag squall lines with it, then we will see some birds.
