Matheson Hammock was very quiet this morning. I was there from 8:45 - 10:30, walking the main park, the mangroves trail, and the nature trail. The total number of birds (not number of species) I saw/heard was outnumbered by the squirrels in the main area of the park. The the mangrove trail that leads from the Fairchild parking lot was full of cardinals and Red-bellied WPs, and there was a Prairie Warbler singing. There were several Prairies and N. Parulas around. Not much else. I had a grand total of 11 species. Woohoo!
