While riding back to the park (Everglades NP) from Robert is Here just now (it's 5:49 pm), a dark dove flew in front of us. I saw obvious white on the wing (the white contrasted with a darker wing), and assumed it was going to be a White-winged Dove. However, it appeared very much like a white trailing edge to the wing, exactly what my 4th edition National Geographic shows for Zenaida. My first thought was Zenaida Dove, which I have seen in the Bahamas. It crossed SR 9336 from east to west, south of Robert is Here. I'm unsure of the exact spot, but it was somewhere within 2 miles of Robert is Here. Sorry for the lack of specifics, I was so amazed I forgot to remember the exact spot. We turned around for a cursory check, but I'm going back there now to make a strong effort to relocate it. I'm about 75% sure it was a Zenaida Dove. I'll post after my search.
