When I observed the Hill Mynas last, they were in a slash pine next to the chapel on the main campus, that was around 5:45 or so, I stumbled upon them, so they may have been there for some time before I actually saw them. I have been told that they favor the tall palm trees in front of the University library, although I have not actually observed them there. When I did see they, they were a pair and were having a conversation, so you will more than likely have to follow your ears if they are present. When I saw them, they were in the tree briefly, and then flew off in a southeasterly direction off campus. Don't forget to wait around for the Spot Breasted orioles, they are always nearby on campus, and particularly favor the shavingbrush trees. Have you ever observed on the main campus of the University before? If not, I could give you an idea of where to look for certain species. Also, unless he has migrated, there is a male Ruby-throated hummingbird that loves to frequent the magenta Orchid trees on campus. There are only two that are blooming enough to sustain him now (or at least I would guess that to be the case), and there is also a female, that I saw once some time ago, but perhaps they are residents. At any rate, good luck with the birdathon! I hope to start nice and early tomorrow...happy hunting!
