Whooly-necked Stork in Homestead

While driving down SW 217th Avenue in Homestead this morning on my way to Everglades National Park, I spotted what turns out to be (after consulting The Handbook of Birds of the World, Volume II) a Whooly-necked Stork (Ciconia episcopus), a species from Africa and southern Asia. I'm assuming this is an escapee, possibly from Miami Metrozoo. It was seen in a recently-dug ditch on the west side of Sw 217 Avenue, about 1 mile north of CR 9336. Several Black-necked Stilts were also present. When I passed the area again later this morning, the stork was no longer present.
