The morning started at Tigertail Beach at a cool 52F. All the plovers were present(Black-bellied, Wilson's, Semipalmated, Piping & Snowy). Good numbers of Short-billed Dowitchers, Dunlin, Westerns but only 8 Red Knots, 2 Greater Yellowlegs and 2 Least SAndpipers. One adult Reddish Egret. All the birds were in the posted bird area toward the SW. Tide was very low at 7:45am.
Eagle Lake park (10:30am) produced at least 8 Bronzed Cowbirds, they were feeding in the tall reeds along with the Red-wings but you needed a scope to see those red eyes. (wetlands behind the ball fields, along the south central edge)
Ten Thousand Islands NWR Marsh Trail (south side of US 41)produced a white morph Great Blue Heron (100 yds down the paved trail, east side). R.Spoonbills, light phase Short-tailed hawk and Green and Blue-winged Teal.
The highlight on the boardwalk at Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve were the two eaglets in the nest. Found a nice flock of gnatcatchers, warblers and vireos but not the Bell's. A Northern Parula was in full song.
