On the basis of Larry's report on Riverbend Park (see reports belows)I drove the 50 miles (exactly) to Riverbend Park and didn't see the redhead ducks or wood ducks. However, I was greeted by 5 turkeys as I parked the car at picnic island and then was entertained by two Downey Woodpeckers. That made the trip. The peacock added a festive touch

Any TAS'ers that haven't seen this spot take a look. Besides the historical aspects it has the turkeys, several pileated, many red-bellied woodpeckers, downey woodpeckers and then the usual herons, egrets, etc. There are two active osprey nests. All in all a very nice place to visit....and canoe....and kayak. Very close to I-95 as well as Turnpike. The interior maps are somewhat outdated and they said new ones will be available in two weeks.

It also has some outstanding equestrian paths. so bring your horse.
