We continue to have good numbers of Buntings and Hummingbirds.
This morning was 12/3 with a myrtle and indigo feeding in the feeders for good measure.The dicksissel is around but not seen today.Still hoping/waiting for clay coloreds to return.
Our birds seem to feed in shifts this year moreso than last year so it is harder to get a good count.On the cold days we get a better picture of numbers and have gone into the 30s at least once.
I have satellite feeders at 2 friend s homes and they report good numbers as well
-I have seen high teens at one of the houses.
But it is still early for really big numbers.
This morning I had a small group picking purple Odontonema (sp?) {firespike} flowers and drinking the nectar from the bases like the orioles do...
