The long-term rangers at Flamingo saw a single one feeding on the mud flats this past weekend (1-22-11), but yeah, best time to try to see them at Snake Bight is Sept-Nov. And I can vouch - they are not there now. Other reports from fishermen have hinted they may be in the Cape Sable area, so that may be new wintering grounds post-hurricanes.
