I have spent a good deal of time on Google Maps and some time with Google Earth. Google Earth allows users to save place marks. I suspect that Google Maps "harvests" these place marks. When running searches on Google Maps, I have often found several locations and names for the same site. Someone with a Google Earth account probably saved a place mark as Aerojet WMA and Google Maps picked up the name from there.
