I met John Boyd and Carlos Sanchez this morning at 5:15 at the park entrance and we headed south looking for Owls and other night birds...Temp was about 48F with a strong breeze. Not horrible but much cooler than we expected. We only heard a few owls along the way to Paurotis Pond. We watched the roosting waders launch, did the count and began looking for other birds heading back north stopping along the way.
John has the count totals for our part, but I wanted to post photos of the late Barn Swallows we saw during the count at Paurotis Pond... I had a good time on the count and look forward to doing it again next year.
