Sorry for the delayed posting, but I saw a Masked Duck yesterday around 9:15am at Gate 15 (off of Research Road) in Everglades National Park. I was standing on the berm and it was in the small lake that is on the north side of the berm. It was alone and swimming towards me when I noticed it. I tried relocating it this morning, but no luck.
There are at least 20 Hooded Mergansers in this same lake, along with Glossy Ibis, the usual herons and one Ruddy Duck. Green-winged Teal and Ring-necked Ducks were in the lake on the south side of the berm.
