On Research Road of all places! Actually, over it. Trey and I were at the turn before the missile base this morning at 6:40 to look for Sedge Wren when we see this bird flying NW from the direction of the missile base. The sun was not up yet, but the bird was back lit by the glow of dawn in that direction. As I put by binocs on it, the bird called with a single note goose-type call, and we both said "Goose!" I started snapping crappy, back lit pictures, while Trey "I'm a slacker that leaves the camera in the car" Mitchell looked at it in the binocs, ID'ing it as a Snow "Blue" Goose. It veered a little towards us before continuing on to the northwest. Soon afterwards, we saw a Sedge Wren in the brush right by the road, and a White-tailed Kite perched in a tree before the missile base.

We later went to Lucky Hammock, where we added Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Brown-crested and Great Crested Flycatchers, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, flyover American Pipits, and two lingering Barn Swallows, among other stuff.

A very nice morning.
