Have you considered a juvenile common moorhen? Except for the yellow streaks, the colors match.
When I was at Green Cay yesterday there were these juvies climbing the reeds both at the north end and the southeast end of the boardwalk. (And at Loxahatchee last Wednesday, there were five or six climbing around in a bush.)
