Yes, I know exactly where you were. I had them not too far away, in thick cover. Last week there were ten birds. This morning that hawk was sitting on the sign that the shrike uses in that corner. I didn't know Red-shoulders were shorebirdophages. I thought they prefered herps. He has the company of two merlins and at least three harriers that ply the wetland. No wonder the birds aren't showing themselves.
