The flagged Sanderling was caught May 20, 2010 at Pierces Point Beach, NJ and is part of a study to identify important stopover sites for shorebirds. One banded Piping Plover is from Chincoteague, VA and the other is from Sleeping Bear Dunes, MI and wintered here last year.
