Other input/advice is welcome.
South Florida possible birdhouse birds:
barn swallow (nesting shelf)
carolina wren? (they apparently prefer anything but birdhouses)
eastern screech owl
downy woodpecker
northern flicker
red-bellied woodpecker
purple martin (need fresh water nearby)
european starling (to be discouraged of course)
South Florida possible platform nest birds:
bluejay
brown thrasher
mourning dove
loggerhead shrike (hopefully)
monk parakeet (big platform)
northern cardinal (why not? they nest everywhere)
northern mockingbird (why not? they nest everywhere)
Cool special case:
chimney swift
