Birdhouse information?

Hi,

Barry University is getting serious about being more bird-friendly. In addition to extensive new plantings, another change will be putting up birdhouses around the campus.

In order to maximize birdhouse density without overdoing it, we need to find out what birdhouse-using species will nest around the campus, and how far away the houses need to be from other birdhouses, both those used by the same species and those used by different species.

Can anyone direct me to a source for this kind of information? Please reply off-list if you like.
