I did not see your post before I posted on the same day - I saw hundreds of Common Nighthawks at about 5 or 6 pm - they were going north - over Pine Island Ridge ESL in the center of Broward County. fascinating! They were silent, but seemed to be feeding. Some were incredibly high up. I also heard hummingbirds that night in the oaks for the first of season.
