Night hawks by the score

A very large group of nighthawks passed over Coral Springs this 6:00 AM. Basically southbound but with much twisting and turning as in maybe feeding or maybe "no hurry."

And toally silent. At altitude of 15 feet to about 100 feet. Numbered about 25-30.

Are they night time migrants or day time?
