after checking my warbler books and googling many pics found several pics of coye f with definite eye ring and 1 with slight hint of gray on head-can find no pic or mention of red on head???--i should admit to having a problem with seeing faint reish colors-good arguments for nash and virginia have beeen made believe your guess of hybrid is very possible--wish we had some real warblers here in boynton instead of looking at pics--at least these discussions have refreshed my memory-thanks to all who contributed
