Jennifer Stucker from the Great Lakes PIPL Research and Recovery responded to my report of 2 banded plovers on Crandon Beach. One is a male that wintered on Crandon last year. He nests in Sleeping Dunes National Lakeshore on Lake Michigan. He was banded as a chick in 2000 on Lake Superior. Incredible how he found the same small stretch of beach this year!
The other bird is also a Great Lakes bird.
