There are 2 female Black Scoters hanging around Hobie Beach, off Rickenbacker Causeway. They stay close to shore (15-40 yds.) and seem very comfortable amongst the picnickers, jetskiers and fishermen.
Directions: At end of U.S. 1, take Rickenbacker Causeway (toll); at east end of Powell Bridge, go .5 miles and turn right onto small frontage road. [This is across from the old marine stadium.] Turn back west (one way) and go ~.2 miles and scoters should be to the left.
