Thanks, Henry. I'm in my early 50's. I'm embarrassed to say that while I thought about capturing rainwater to drink, it didn't occur to me to simply remove the cover on my water bottle, which I had stored in my waist pack. I received several phone calls during the storm (most from 911), and I had difficulty getting my phone to work, so I guess I was preoccupied with that at the time. The rain didn't last long, but it would have at least given me a few milliliters of drinking water. As far as the safety of drinking everglades water, my understanding is that one would need to purify it before drinking.
