Good afternoon all,

I'm finalizing a manuscript on the breeding biology of Black-hooded Parakeets in Florida and thought that I'd post another RFI for additional recent sightings.

I'm looking for observations of active nests (i.e., cavities attended by one or two parakeets during daylight hours) and recent fledgelings still being fed by adults. I'll need the city, months/year of observation, and nesting substrate (except for observations of fledglings): either wooden utility pole, palm snag (preferably to species), or pine snag. I don't need specific locations but will accept them if available and offered.

I'm mainly interested in observations during the past few years, and supported by field notes or other written details. I'm not really interested in sightings based solely on memory, unless they occurred in 2009 or 2010.

Please send any info to me privately. All assistance will be acknowledged; thanks.

Best regards,

Bill Pranty
