There was an obvious influx of warblers in this wave, as Key Largo was swamped this morning with Caribbean migrants. Many birds were still flying overhead even at around 8:30AM. The amount of flight calls and movement was dizzying. My totals for the Key Largo area included 11 warbler species:

Blue-headed Vireo (2)
Gray Catbird (8)
Northern Parula (1)
Cape May Warbler (13)
Black-throated Blue Warbler (4)
Prairie Warbler (16)
Palm Warbler (6)
Black-and-white Warbler (5)
American Redstart (9)
Worm-eating Warbler (1)
Ovenbird (1)
Northern Waterthrush (4)
Common Yellowthroat (6)
Indigo Bunting (3)

Birds were moving quickly and areas of hammock with many birds present at one minute were completely devoid of birds the next. Most of the flight calls/birds I was hearing seemed to be Cape May Warblers and Indigo Buntings, but most seemed to be shooting overhead!

Carlos
