I agree with John on the possibility of "wintering" birds, given that LOWAs tend to migrate early (we bird Loop Rd in late July/early Aug looking for both waterthrushes). I observed a LOWA along Bear Cut Trail on last year's Coot Bay CBC, and I believe within the last couple of years LOWAs have wintered at the pond along Gumbo Limbo Trail, and at Snake Bight Trail in ENP.
