At least one La. Waterthrush was not a transcription error. Could I have been mistaken about the ID...yes, but I don't think so.

The bulk of La. Waterthrush migration occurs before your banding starts. Based on specimens, migration does continue into Oct. (sight reports suggest Nov.). A few birds also winter, and it's possible that we encountered a wintering bird. It was near a culvert on the Dade portion of Loop Rd.

: Is that correct? That doesn't seem possible. Are the keys and the mainland that different? In two seasons of fall banding (starting in late Aug)down here we've caught over 100 NOWA's and 0 LOWA's. My experience in the field has been similar. What gives? Were these LOWA's stragglers that had been known to be hanging around (like last year at Barnes)?
