Early this morning the La Sagra's was along the dirt Nature Trail near Pond 4. My friends Bill and Barbara Drummond from MA had great looks. It could be considered a show-off -- teed up, calling and flying 10 inches over our heads. We found it in the buttonwood clump where I found it on Monday, but it continued moving south along the trail into Pond 5 area. This is the farthest south that I've seen it. Finally, it crossed back to the east side of the trail and stayed low in the sea grapes. It melted into the vegetation and stopped calling.
The Drummond's saw the Red-footed Booby at Pelican Harbor around noon yesterday. They were told that the bird comes in irregularly now.
One of the Brown-crested Flycatchers continues in Matheson Hammock. Today it was just west of Old Cutler, across from the green wooden gate that's part of the stone fence.
I include my through-the-bins shot so you can really appreciate Ken's photo from yesterday!
