Overall, Friday was a good day to look around for our migratory feathered friends, given the fact that the rains were keeping them from moving on anytime soon. Besides LaPuma's "tres bonne recette pour Gumbo" and the amazing rarities at Long Pine Key, our own A.D. Barnes had a somewhat productive afternoon. Besides the wonderful Willow Flycatcher (okay "probable", but still wonderful) that Brian located for us, there were other birds worth mentioning, some regular and some not-so-regular...I'll list some of both:
Swainson's Thrush
Veery
Red-eyed Vireo
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Summer Tanager
Ovenbird
Northern Waterthrush
Black-and-white Warbler
Northern Parula
Prairie Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
American Redstart
Common Yellowthroat
Yellow-throated Warbler
Tennessee Warbler
Peregrine Falcon (2)
Also, a possible Prothonotary Warbler inside "Homeless Hammock" gave me too quick a view to confirm it and did not allow itself to be relocated.
Sorry for the late post but I had no internet access until now.
Au revoir,
