gary and I went to Lucky Hammock this evening to try for the Short-eared Owls again. Around 6:30 p.m. an owl was seen silently flying across the fields behind the hammock. A short while later when we were on the road in front of the hammock, we heard the barking call of the short-eared owl and watched it fly from the hammock,over the road and heading northeast.
