We viewed the canvasback for a hour at the Target Store retainage pond. At 9:20 this morning the bird was quiet and mixed with coots, ringnecked ducks and several Moorhens. The bird came as close as 24 meters but 33 meters was more typical. The parking, viewing and lighting is very good at this location and 500mm or maybe even 400 should do the trick.

The ringnecked ducks were very accomodating coming as close as 15-18 meters. Again, a very congenial place to take pictures.
