Myself and several birders were not able to relocate the La Sagra's Friday morning. I believe birders arrived at dawn and I did not leave until after 1:00 pm. If the bird is still present, it was hunkered down for the terrible weather we had today in southeastern Florida. However, Great-crested Flycatcher, Black-throated Green Warbler, and Blue-headed Vireo were all seen several times, even in the same tree together. Hopefully it will turn up for the CBC.

On Research Road, before the research buildings, two Roseate Spoonbills were feeding among the Wood Storks. Wilson's Snipes were seen flying over the last stretch of Research Road.

At Anhinga Trail, I heard Least Bittern and saw American. A flock of ducks were seen way off the distance, looking like shovelers. In the fig that can be seen from the Royal Palm parkinglot and over one entrance to Gumbo Limbo trail, there was a male Black-throated Blue Warbler and Yellow-throated Warbler.

Off to Lucky Hammock, where I did a good bit of wading, Prairie Warbler and Northern Waterthrush were seen, along with calling Savannah Sparrow and a beautiful Grasshopper Sparrow.

The birding was a bit slow, but any day walking barefoot around the Glades (because the shoes and socks were out of commission) is a good day.
